Jerry D. Garner, Jr, 59, of Little York, IL passed away at 4:10 pm, Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg, Il.

Jerry was born September 21, 1962 in Monmouth IL, the son of Jerry D. Sr. and Lucy (Lefort) Garner.  He was raised and educated in Monmouth, attending Monmouth High School.

Jerry married Jean Johnson on June 21, 1981 in Monmouth, IL and she survives.

Jerry worked for Asphlund trimming trees for several years before working at Maytag in Galesburg until the plant closed.  He most recently was at Well’s Pet Food in Monmouth.

He enjoyed boating, camping, fishing, riding his ATV’s, hunting and any outdoor activities.  He loved spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Garner; his children, James Robert Garner and Jessica Garner both of Galesburg; 5 grandchildren and 3 great granddaughters; his sister, Julie Colwell of Oquawka, IL; a niece, Holly Colwell of Oquawka and nephew, Jeff (Abbey) Colwell of Stronghurst, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Sandy Garner and nephew, Jason Carnes.

A gathering of family and friends will be from 2:00-4:00 pm, Sunday, December 5, 2021 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL.  Cremation has been accorded. A private family interment will take place at a later date.  Memorials may be given to Illinois Cancer Care of Galesburg.
