Local High School student, 15-year old Leslie Albert, recently set four Illinois state records in weightlifting at recent United States Powerlifting Association Holiday Bash Meet this past weekend in Des Moines, Iowa.
In only her 3rd meet ever, she received two first place medals for winning the 90+kg weight class in the Open and Junior Divisions. Her squat lift total of 386 pounds, bench lift of 182 pounds, deadlift of 353 pounds and combined total of 920 pounds all broke the Illinois state records for the age 13-15 90+kg weight class.
Leslie trains nights 3 nights a week for 2-3 hours a night with her coach, former Monmouth-Roseville High School graduate, Jake Hendrix.
