Since the Thanksgiving break, Monmouth-Roseville Superintendent Ed Fletcher reports that COVID numbers have increased throughout the district:
“Prior to Thanksgiving we were at 5 positive cases and as of the other day we had 16 in the district. The number of students that were excluded prior to Thanksgiving was 32 and now was up to 87. I think you need to understand those numbers are parents doing what they are supposed to do. If their kid is sick, if they have symptoms, keep them home, that is one of the keys for us in the school system is if they are sick, don’t send them to school. Get them tested, keep them out until their symptoms subside and very few kids were excluded because of a close contact at school.”
The Monmouth-Roseville School District will dismiss at 2 o’clock on Friday to begin their Winter Break. School will resume on Tuesday, January 4th.
