Calls were down over the last month for the Monmouth Police Department. City of Monmouth Communications Director Ken Helms also informs the department participated in ALICE training locally at the schools, which will see changes in the New Year with the recent passed state legislation:

“There has been some state legislature changes that kick in January that is going to severely limit the way they can perform that training. A lot of the feedback from constituents that are in the northern metro areas resulted in some legislation changes that have prohibited, basically it is done like a lockdown drill now instead of a more appropriate type training that they were doing before.”

Meanwhile, the Monmouth Fire Department underwent a lot of different training tactics to review and improve skills to utilize on calls.
