Sandra J. Bennett, of Galesburg, Illinois, passed away at 12:10 a.m. on Monday, December 27, 2021 at the Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, Illinois.

Sandy was born October 18, 1941 in Macomb, IL, the daughter of Haldon and Hazel Curless.  She married the love of her life Bruce Bennett on June 24, 1962.  She is survived by two daughters, Lori Bennett of Maquon, IL and Pam (Dale) Dansie of Riverton, Utah, three wonderful grandchildren, Dustin (Natalie) Ingle, Kayce Homer, and Jayme (Drew) Luster and six beautiful great-grandchildren, Lucas Homer, Liam Homer, Avery Ingle, Luna Fuller, Ian Fuller, and Bennett Ingle, three sisters, Joan (Kenny) Woods of Arizona, Shirley (Dave) Potts of California and Pat (Ed) Coker of Macomb, IL and several nieces and nephews and extended family.  Sandy was preceded in death and now reunited with her husband Bruce.

Sandy graduated from Galesburg Cottage Hospital School of Nursing in 1962 with honors and continued her nursing career for 42 years.  She also became a licensed Massage Therapist and graduated with honors.  She was a member of the Oaks Community Church.

A private family memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes & Crematory in Knoxville, IL, with Marty Briney officiating.  Her cremains will be interred at the Knoxville Cemetery, Knoxville. In-lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital.  On-line condolences and/or expressions of sympathy may be sent through www.hurd-hendricksfuneralhome.com
