Still Unsure of When to Get the COVID Booster?

50% of residents in Warren County five years of age and older are fully vaccinated. Warren County remains at a high transmission rate and Health Department Administrator Jenna Link encourages all to get their vaccines or boosters when one becomes eligible:

“If it has been six months with Pfizer or Moderna, since you have had your second dose, you are ready for that booster dose. For Johnson and Johnson, they have suggested a booster dose two months after your first dose. The CDC now has come out with a recommendation, really based on efficacy and some side effects from the vaccine, and mRNA vaccines are just more effective, so they really have recommended that you follow up your Johnson and Johnson first dose with a booster of one of the mRNAs for best coverage, but you still have that option if you are not comfortable with those mRNAs that you can still choose to do the Johnson and Johnson as your booster.”

The Warren County Health Department will hold COVID-19 vaccination and booster clinics for those 12 years and older on January 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th from 9 am until noon. On Wednesday, January 19th, a pediatric clinic for 5 to 11 year olds will be conducted from 2 to 5 pm. Appointments can be made by calling 309-734-0823.
