W-H Farm Bureau President Jake Armstrong Receives FB Act Young Leader Award

Share

At the Annual Illinois Farm Bureau Meeting held earlier this month, Warren-Henderson Farm Bureau President Jake Armstrong was presented with the FB Act Young Leader Award for his 100% participation in the Farm Bureau’s action requests over the past year. Manager Gina Long explains the background of FB Act:

“It stands for Farm Bureau Agricultural Contact Team. And so, what Farm Bureau does is they have a wonderful statewide team and a handful of times a year, they will send out an action request for people who are signed up for FB Act. People signed up will get an email, get a text, which says ‘hey this is a really big thing that is going on right now and we need your support to contact legislatures to say xyz to support or not support xyz.’ It is a really good communication tool to keep farmers in the loop. It is one thing to say yes, I support it, but it’s another thing to contact your legislatures to make sure they know what you think.”

2021 plat books are also available for purchase at the Stronghurst and Monmouth offices, $28 for members and $40 for non-members.
