Warren County Public Transportation Continues Strong Presence Throughout Warren County

Warren County Public Transportation, operated through Warren Achievement Center, is funded by ridership and state grants. With the ongoing pandemic, Warren County Public Transportation has received grant funds to be used on capital projects, such as installing cameras in the vehicles and new dispatching software, making it even easier for individuals to schedule rides in the future. Marketing Director Sean Cavanaugh informs once infrastructure is in place, the look into expanding service hours could be a possibility:

“We have looked into that quite a bit. We are focusing on utilizing those funds first in providing the best infrastructure, if you will, for our transportation. I think in the future we would definitely want to expand to later in the day, so people with the 9 to 5, or if they have a doctor’s appointment at 4:30, that we could provide those rides as well and also during a weekend day. To expand with extra hours, we would need to hire more drivers, but I think as things shake out and return back to normal, I think we will be able to make those changes in the future.”

Warren County Public Transportation offers affordable rides to Cameron, Little York, Kirkwood, Roseville, Monmouth, and other in-county communities, which can be scheduled by calling 309-734-6001.
