The United Red Storm Athlete of the Week is senior boys basketball player, Cormaic Flynn. After making the basketball all-state team in the spring, Cormaic seems to be hitting his scoring stride this season. In three games last week, he scored an average of nearly 22 points per contest. The West Central Heat Athlete of the Week is sophomore girls basketball player, Shelby Bowman. Shelby continues to pour in the points for the Lady Heat. In a non-conference win over West Prairie, she scored a career-high and school-record 45 points. Shelby was also the leading scorer in a win over a solid Annawan Bravettes squad, scoring 14 points.

The Galesburg Silver Streak Athlete of the Week is senior girls bowler, Chloe Day. Chloe has been rolling the ball well early in her final season of high school. The Mount Mercy college recruit had the best 6-game series, 3-game series and the two best single game finishes at the recently completed United Township Invitational. Chloe’s 6-game total of 1261 was her highest of the season, so far.

The Abingdon-Avon Tornado Athlete of the Week is senior boys basketball player, Parker Stoneking. Parker filled up the stat sheet in a win over North Fulton last week. He scored 20 points, pulled down seven rebounds, handed out three assists and hustled his way to three steals.
