Barry Lunney Jr. Named Illini Offensive Coordinator

Illinois football has its new offensive coordinator.  Barry Lunney Jr. has been named the team’s OC and quarterbacks coach after serving in a similar role over the past two season with UTSA.  He replaces Tony Petersen, who was let go following just one year as offensive coordinator with the Illini.  Lunney and head coach Bret Bielema will be reunited after Lunney spent five years as the tight ends coach at Arkansas under Bielema from 2013 to 2017.
