The City of Monmouth has received word from the state that funds will be coming from two legislative grants in amounts of $668,000 and $200,000. City Administrator Lew Steinbrecher says those funds will be utilized to complete the water main replacement and road reconstruction on Euclid Avenue, as well as the water main and roadway on 6th Street between Euclid and Broadway:
“These two legislative appropriations that were made a decade or so back are finally coming to fruition. I think this is an excellent opportunity for the City to address the remaining section of the water main on Euclid between 6th and 9th Street; give us an opportunity to replace that so that whole section of water line will be new from Main Street to 11th and also give us the opportunity then to reconstruct Euclid Avenue roadway between 6th and 9th as well. The other appropriation, I think we are going to apply that to the water main and reconstruct the roadway on 6th Street between Euclid and Broadway.”
Also, on the high priority project list for the City of Monmouth is the replacement of the water main and road reconstruction of West Harlem. Administrator Steinbrecher anticipates the water main to be replaced this year and the roadway in 2023.
