As positive COVID cases have been on the rise in Warren County, more and more people are utilizing at home testing kits, says Warren County Health Department Administrator Jenna Link:
“We have no idea really what is going on with the home test that doesn’t get reported through the database that we have setup. If you are tested at a provider, those results come to us, home tests are not. We get a lot of people calling saying they have been ill and tested at home and what should I do. We walk through with them the same things we tell everybody else; isolate for your five days from onset and wear your mask day six through ten, quarantine household contacts, notify your close contacts that you have tested positive so that they know to kind of watch for symptoms and get tested. Make sure you are wiping down surfaces and disinfecting frequently touched surfaces. We go through all of that with them, but that number does not get reported in our number.”
Symptomatic testing is still offered at the Health Department Mondays through Thursdays 8 am to noon. Upcoming vaccination and booster clinics by appointment only will be held January 21st and 28th for anyone 12 and older, while a pediatric clinic for those 5 to 11 years old is scheduled for January 19th. The number to schedule an appointment is 309-734-0823.
