Karol K. Bishop, 81, of Monmouth, IL passed away at 4:24 pm. Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at Seminary Manor, Galesburg, IL.

She was born September 16, 1940 in Seaton, IL the daughter of Donald & Helen Gale (Meyers) Redmond.  She was raised and educated in Monmouth, graduating from Monmouth high School in 1958.

Karol married Robert Hartzell in 1959.  She later married Gary Bishop.

Karol worked at Martin & Clark, later as a teller at First Financial Bank in Monmouth and most recently at Axline Pharmacy.

She was a member of the First Christian Church of Monmouth. She enjoyed dancing, reading, walking, working in her yard, traveling, driving around and she liked to refund.  She loved the Christmas holiday time and spending as much time with her family as possible. 

Survivors include her daughters, Rhonda (David) Lybarger and Terri (David) Johnson both of Monmouth; her sons, David (Debbie) Hartzell of Gerlaw, IL and Nick (Heather) Bishop of Wyanet, IL; 14 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; sisters, Regina Drish of Burlington, IA, Joni Todd of Monmouth and JoAnn Keller of Burlington, IA; brother, Michael Redmond of Rochester, MN; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents. Grandson, Tyson K. Lybarger and one brother, Danny “Boogie” Redmond.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Monday, January 31, 2022 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth.  Interment will be at Warren County Memorial Park, Monmouth.  Visitation will be Monday morning from 10:00-11:00 am at the funeral home.  Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association or GiGi’s Playhouse Quad Cities Downes Syndrome Achievement Center and sent to the funeral home.
