After starting the season (15-0), the Monmouth-Roseville Titan girls basketball team as dropped four of their last five games. But you would be hard-pressed to find a team that has had the gauntlet of squads the Titans have faced during that stretch. Back-to-back losses to (17-5) Rockridge, a loss to a solid (15-5) Abingdon-Avon team, as well as a (23-1) Illini West squad that was #3 in Class 2A in last week’s AP poll. That is a combined (55-11) record amongst those three schools. Monmouth-Roseville did get a important TRAC West Division win against (15-6) Sherrard in the middle of those losses, however. Titan head coach Scott Weber says tough schedules, simply make you tougher.

The Titans have two more away games at Erie-Prophetstown tomorrow night and Saturday afternoon at Farmington before finally getting back to the Shoebox at Monmouth-Roseville High School on Monday in a cross-division game against East Division leader Kewanee. It will be the first home game for the Titan girls since December 18, a span of 37 days.
