Annually through the Illinois Association of Regional Superintendents of School, an educator shortage study is conducted. Regional Office of Education #33 Regional Superintendent Jodi Scott says the shortage is getting worse, not better:

According to the survey, more than 70% of schools say the pandemic has created budget or logistical challenges that have increased hiring needs.
