United Red Storm Boys Basketball Readies for Important Week in LTC Play

The United Red Storm boys basketball team hasn’t played a game for a week due to having a pair of games postponed because of hazardous weather conditions in our area. United’s last time on floor was a win over Galva. The Red Storm garnered a 32 point victory over the Wildcats, stopping a short, 2-game losing streak. Red Storm head coach Doug Dennison said his ball club did a lot of good things and got back to playing hard on the defensive end. Despite covid issues around the state and weather creating issues with the schedule, he believes his team continues to compete hard everyday in practice.

United has a pair of big games this week in terms of conference play and conference tournament seeding. The Red Storm start the week by hosting Abingdon-Avon at the Fieldhouse at United High School on Tuesday. United is currently in 8th place in the LTC standings at (1-2), but only two games behind 2nd place Ridgewood and 2.5 games behind first place Knoxville. United will also be on the road against undefeated in conference play, Ridgewood, on Friday night. That will be a rematch of the United Holiday Tournament championship game, won by Ridgewood, 55-48. United’s game from last Friday against West Central has been moved to Monday as well. The seeding meeting for the upcoming LTC Tournament takes place on Sunday night.
