United Red Storm Boys Sweep West Central; Cormaic Flynn Scores 1,000th Career Point

On Monday night the United Red Storm boys basketball teams welcomed West Central to United High School. The Red Storm grabbed wins in both games. In the JV game United grabbed a 52-19 victory. The Red Storm put 9 players in the scorebook led by Landon Burns with 11, Dee Sargeant added 9 and Hunter Hall had 8. Landom Hannam added 5 while Elliott Copeland, Owen McMillen, Trent Raymond and Keaton Simpson all added 4. Kenneth Higbee added 3.

In the Varsity game, United won 59-36. West Central grabbed a first quarter lead of 13-12 as Abel Wilson had 6. The Red Storm warmed up in the second quarter outscoring West Central 16-7 to take a 28-20 lead into the locker room. Wilson had 9 in the quarter while Cormaic Flynn had 4. Flynn had 6 in the third while Aiden Parkins and AJ Jenks had 4 each to lead a 16-11 third quarter run and the Red Storm led 44-31. The Red Storm put this one away with a 15-3 advantage. Leading scorers for United were Abel Wilson with 19, Cormaic Flynn added 15, including his 1,000 career point, and Aiden Parkins 10. AJ Jenks and Nolan Leffler each had 6 while Matt Holmes added 3. The Red Storm will host Princeville on Tuesday night.
