Like nearly all teams in West Central Illinois, the Monmouth-Roseville boys basketball team has faced issues involving winter weather this week, resulting in a minimal amount of game-action. The Titans have not played a game since a Three Rivers Conference cross-division match up against Kewanee last Friday. Monmouth-Roseville jumped out to an impressive 16 point lead at the half, but would ultimately fall to the Boilermakers 55-53. Head coach Jake Sottos was proud of the way the team battled, and hopes to improve on finishing off those tough games.
Monmouth-Roseville will travel to Morrison tonight in a Three Rivers West Division battle with the Mustangs. The Titans hope to be locked in following the long bus ride and bring the energy needed to capture a victory. Monmouth-Roseville will also travel to Sherrard on Tuesday as well as travel to Rockridge on Thursday in a makeup game that was originally scheduled this past Tuesday. With postseason right around the corner, The Titans hope to get on a roll and pick up a few victories before regionals are seeded next Thursday.
