Anthony N. “Tony” Lester, 60, of Pittsburgh, KS, died Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at Via Christie Hospital in Pittsburgh, KS.

Tony was born July 27, 1961 in Galesburg, the son of Clarence Everett and Nellie (Kennedy) Lester. Tony is survived by his two children, Joseph “J.D.” (Erika) West of Macomb, MI and Candra Lester of Knoxville, IL; two grandchildren, Nikoli and Ayden; and a step-daughter, Savannah Simpson. Tony is also survived by two brothers, John (Barb) Lester of Davenport, IA and Dan (Laura) Lester of Galesburg; four sisters, Sharon (Steve) Apsey of Galesburg, Mary Zielke of Galesburg, Patsy (Gary) Tucker of Galesburg, and Gerry (Tim) Harris of St. Marys, GA; and his girlfriend, Erin Appel of Pittsburgh, KS. Tony was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Teresa Bird.

Tony worked hard his entire life. He started his career at Butler, Mfg, later worked as an over the road truck driver, and has spent the last several years as a self-employed contractor. In his younger years he played football and baseball and now enjoyed watching both. Tony loved to go fishing and spending time outdoors. He will long be remembered as a happy go lucky guy who was loved by everyone. Tony loved a good party and was always the life of the party.

Visitation will be 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, February 25, 2022 at Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. Cremation will be accorded following services. Burial of cremated remains will be at a later date at St. Joseph Cemetery, Galesburg. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choosing.
