Gladstone Man Arrested on Multiple Felony Charges

Chief Deputy Matthew J. Link releases a Gladstone, IL man has been arrested on multiple felony charges. On Sunday, January 30, 2022 at 2:37pm Hancock/Henderson 911 received a call from a rural Biggsville resident stating there was burglary in progress at their residence. The caller also stated their dog had just scared the suspect off and the suspect left walking across the corn field. Sheriff’s Deputies and the Oquawka Police Department responded to the area. Foot prints were located in the snow and the Sheriff’s Auxiliary K9 was deployed for tracking while Sheriff Deputies and the Oquawka Police set up a perimeter. K9 Jake was able to track the suspect and flush him out of a wooded to a Sheriff’s Deputy, where he was taken into custody. K9 Jake also located articles in the wooded area that were stolen during the burglary. Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Kurt W. Scott, age 26 of Gladstone, IL for Attempted Residential Burglary (Class 1 Felony), 2 counts of Burglary (Class 3 Felony), Criminal Trespass to Vehicle (Class A Misdemeanor), Theft (Class A Misdemeanor), Possession of Burglary Tools (Class 4 Felony), Resisting a Peace Officer (Class A Misdemeanor), and Possession of Methamphetamine less than 5 grams (Class 3 Felony). Scott is currently in the Henderson County Jail awaiting a court appearance for bond to be set.

Scott is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
