Art professor Janis Mars Wunderlich and classics professor Bob Holschuh Simmons

are two examples of Monmouth College faculty who have forged strong relationships between the College and the community. Public art that Janis has coordinated and contributed to, with Monmouth students, is visible all over campus and in town. Bob

has brought the classical world to life through interactive activities, most notably

Classics Day, an award-winning regional festival that attracts hundreds of visitors to

the community. Janis, Bob and some of their students will share how their work

builds bridges between the campus and local community, as well as the benefits

of engaging in experiential learning in the arts and humanities.
