Snow Emergency Declared for Monmouth Beginning 7 am Wednesday, Feb. 2nd

Snow Emergency begins:  7am on February 2, 2022 

Snow Emergency ends:  5pm on February 2, 2022

Possible accumulations:  6 to 9 inches predicted

The City of Monmouth is alerting Monmouth residents that a SNOW EMERGENCY will be in effect for 7AM WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 2, 2022 UNTIL 5PM WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 2, 2022. ANY VEHICLES PARKED ON A “SNOW EMERGENCY” ROUTE NEEDS TO BE MOVED OFF THE ROUTE.  This will facilitate snow plowing and removal on Snow Emergency Streets.

According to the National Weather Service and local news forecasts, possible snow accumulations of 6 to 9 inches could fall beginning Tuesday night and continue into the afternoon on Wednesday.  There is a possibility of some minor accumulation Wednesday into Thursday.  Cold temps and blowing snow will follow.

This announcement is being issued to remind the community that any vehicles parked on designated snow routes during the Snow Emergency WILL BE TICKETED.

SNOWFALL AMOUNTS AND TIME SPAN PREDICTIONS ARE TAKEN FROM THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE AND LOCAL WEATHER FORECASTS.


BE PREPARED FOR SLIPPERY ROADS AND LIMITED VISIBILITIES…AND USE
CAUTION WHILE DRIVING.
