Structure Fire in Galesburg

The Galesburg Fire Department responded to a structure fire located at 772 E. Second Street on Thursday, February 10, 2022, at 6:39 pm. The response included all three stations and 11 personnel on duty. Upon arrival, smoke was showing from the story and a half home. Battalion Chief Donald Brackett established command and the Brooks Street station crew made entry into the home with an attack line and quickly extinguished the fire located in a bedroom closet. A callback for Galesburg fire personnel was initiated to provide emergency coverage for the City. There were no injuries reported. There was heavy fire and smoke damage to the home and contents. The fire is currently under investigation by Galesburg Fire Department investigators.
