Titans Battle Rockridge into Overtime, Drop 2-Point Decision

Share

The Monmouth-Roseville boys basketball team gave host Rockridge all it could handle Thursday night before coming up just short, 50-48, in overtime.

Senior guard Connor Thompson led the Titans (16-10 overall, 7-3 Three Rivers West) with 19 points.

Thompson had four treys in the first half to lead Monmouth-Roseville to a 28-25 lead after 16 minutes of play.

“Free throws and turnovers down the stretch. We have to do a better job with both,” Titans coach Jake Sottos said on the Prairie Communications Sports Network postgame show. “But we took a good team to overtime on the road, and we get another shot at them next week at home.”

Nate Henry led Rockridge with 16 points.

Both teams will meet again next Tuesday night at the Shoebox in Monmouth.

The Titans return to action Friday night with a home game against Orion. Tipoff is slated for 7 p.m.
