Monday night brought day two of the Class 3A IESA regional tournament from United West Campus. In the second game of the night it was United and A-Town on the floor, with the winner advancing to the Tuesday night championship against #1 seed Farmington. This game started slow for the Red Storm with numerous turnovers before coach Jason Lancaster had to call an early time-out to settle down his team. But it was a highly entertaining quarter with A-Town using the pick and roll for a number of baskets and they would lead 12-10 after one. The second quarter was just as intense as the first, with both teams giving their fans plenty to cheer about. Tucker Smith would hit a buzzer beating 3 to send the team to halftime break with United on top 24-18. Ian Leffler had 8 points and 5 rebounds at the half while teammates Nolan Jenks with 6 and Kelton Ryan with 5 helped pace the Red Storm. United started off hot in the third quarter as Aiden Martin hit an early 3 and the Red Storm started off with a 7-2 run to take a 31-20 lead forcing A-Town into a timeout. The intensity in the gym was boiling over in the third with both fan bases representing and action from baseline to baseline. Ian Leffler had 6 and Nolan Jenks 4 to pace a 17-4 Red Storm push and a 41-22 lead. The Red Storm continued their domination in the fourth to run away with a 52-26 win. Leading the Red Storm in scoring was Ian Leffler with 19 points and 12 rebounds. Nolan Jenks added 10 while Tucker Smith had 7, Kelton Ryan and Aiden Martin had 5 each. Eli Vancil added 4 and Jayden Cairns 2. The Red Storm will battle with Farmington on Tuesday for the regional championship.
