After Four Rainouts, Monmouth-Roseville Baseball FINALLY Gets to Play a Game

Share

After four games were canceled last week due to Mother Nature’s stubbornness, the Monmouth-Roseville Titan baseball team FINALLY got on the field earlier this week, before more of Mother Nature’s bleak weather hit the area.

The Monmouth-Roseville baseball team kicked off their season Monday night with a 1-0 loss to Abingdon-Avon at Sunny Lane Field. The Titan defense played very well overall, but the offense was unable to get the big hit when needed. CJ Johnson threw 5 strong innings for the Titans, pounding the strike zone and demonstrating great control. Head coach Jordan Ball hopes to see the team improve their approach at the plate going forward to create more opportunities for his ballclub.

Monmouth-Roseville is set to take on West Central tonight pending weather conditions. This kicks off a 3-day road trip for the Titans as they will travel to Kewanee on Friday and to Riverdale on Monday night for their first game in the Three Rivers West conference. The next home game for the Titans will be March 31st in the second game of a back-to-back match up against Riverdale. That will start a 5-game home stretch for Monmouth-Roseville.
