Mr. Carl Dean Presley, 85, of Galesburg, died on Thursday, March 3, 2022, at 11:15 a.m., in OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg.

Carl was born on May 17, 1936, in Oregon County, Missouri, as the son of Henry Monroe and Gracie Viola (Williams) Presley. He married Sereatha Lewis on June 16, 1956, in Alton, Missouri. He later married Marilyn Faye Johnson on June 17, 1989, in Abingdon, Illinois. She preceded him in death on September 14, 2016.

He is survived by his children, Ted Dean (Lisa) Presley, Tony (Kathy) Presley, Tim (Dawn) Presley, Terra (Bill Harlan) Ravencraft, Teresa Wheatley, Angie Presley, Sandra (Larry) Waddell, Janette Curtis, Larry (Linda) Johnson, Tammara Morse, Tina Morse, Patricia (Lee) Jones, and Cara Kidwell; and special friend, Tim (Diana) Wheeler. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Carl is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marilyn; a daughter, Jamie Haneghan; four brothers, Odis, Orville, Hanford, and Arvis Presley; and two sisters, Edna and Wanda Johnson.

Carl worked at the former Purington Brick Yard in East Galesburg before working at Maytag for 36 years, retiring in 1995.  He had lived in the area since 1950, living in Knoxville, Cameron, and finally Galesburg.  He was a member of the East Galesburg Community Chapel.  He was an avid fisherman and hunter.  He also enjoyed traveling and spending time with his friends at McDonald’s.

Visitation will be noon to 1 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2022 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel. Funeral Services will follow at 1 p.m. at the chapel with Pastor Danny England officiating. Burial will be at La Harpe Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Carl’s memory may be made to East Galesburg Community Chapel. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
