Dawn A. Phillips, 59, of Monmouth, IL, passed away at 10:03 p.m., Saturday, March 19, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born on July 10, 1962 in Key West, FL, the daughter of Richard Clarence and Barbara Jean (Walker) Mackenzie. Dawn was raised in Mountain View, CA and moved to Monmouth in 1976 and graduated from Monmouth High School in 1980.
Dawn met Mike Phillips at the Prime Beef Festival in 1976, and they have been together ever since. They married on July 16, 1978 in Monmouth, IL; he survives.
She worked as a records clerk for DD Homes in Galesburg, IL for 27 years. Dawn loved to ride her Harley Davidson. Most of all, she loved to spend time with her family.
Surviving Dawn is her husband, Mike Phillips of Monmouth, IL; her daughters, Missy Phillips, Nikki (Jason) Cook both of Monmouth, IL; her grandchildren, Madison (Jose Arellano) Turnquist of Peoria, IL, Brandon Pritchard of Monmouth, IL, Avery Pritchard of Monmouth, IL, Maddie Cook of Monmouth, IL, Aubrey Fowler of Monmouth, IL, Grace Cook of Monmouth, IL; her sisters, Sue Hallman of Crosby, TX and Betty (Travis) Rosiere of Monmouth, IL. Also surviving is mother-in-law, Marge Kinney, brother-in-law, Jeff (Linda) Phillips; her best friend, Pam Wilson of Monmouth, IL; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, and brother-in-law, Larry Hallman.
A Gathering of Family & Friends will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL. The family requests that you wear purple colors or Harley Davidson Apparel. Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials can me made to the Dawn Phillips Memorial Fund.
