Donna M. Ricketts

Donna M. Ricketts, age 93, of rural Rozetta, passed away at 3:37 pm on
March 9, 2022 at her rural residence. Donna was born on February 11,
1929 in Rock Island, Illinois and is the daughter of William Glenn and
Mildred Louise Balmer Rubert. She was raised in Aledo, Illinois where
she attended local schools and graduated from Aledo High School with the
class of 1947. She later attended Carl Sandburg College where she
attained her certification as a CNA (Certified Nurses Assistant). Donna
married Maynard E. Ricketts on October 16, 1948 in the Methodist Church
in Aledo, Illinois. He preceded her in death on March 3, 2016. Donna
first worked for the Mercer County Farm Bureau in their office for a
number of years until her daughter, Diane was born. She then assisted
Maynard and was a farmwife in the operation of their family farm in
Mercer and Henderson counties. Donna also worked as a CNA at Community
Memorial Hospital for 25 years and lastly worked at Haase Embroidery in
Monmouth for a time and later as Nurses Assistant for Dr. Jabbour until
her retirement. Donna is a member of Rozetta Baptist Church and has
served on various committees. She showed her love for others through her
love of baking pies for her deserving family and friends. She is
survived by her daughters, Linda Melton and Chuck of Wataga, Illinois
and Diane Stumphy and Randy Eggen of Kirkwood, Illinois. There are three
grandchildren surviving, Kara Keating and Caleb of Alexis, Illinois,
Shaun Melton and Jennifer of Galesburg, Illinois, and Jason Melton of
Aurora, Colorado. Also surviving are five great grandchildren, Wyatt,
Charlotte, Daniel, Evalynne, and Presley. Preceding Donna in her death
are her parents, husband Maynard, and two sisters, Dorothy and Nancy.

A funeral service is being planned on Wednesday March 16, 2022 at 10:30
am at the Rozetta Baptist Church of rural Henderson County. Her
interment will follow in the Rozetta Cemetery next to her husband. Her
family plans visitation and will receive their friends at the Rozetta
Baptist Church from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday evening. A memorial fund
is being established for the Rozetta Baptist Church. To leave your
