Joann (Parrish) Klapp.  Ed graduated from Galesburg High School in 1971.  He enlisted in the US Air Force on August 31, 1972 and was honorably discharged on June 18, 1975.  He went on to attend Carl Sandburg College and received his AAS in 1976.  Ed married Susan Joyce Aloian on December 31, 1985 in Davenport, Iowa.

Ed is survived by his loving wife, Susan Klapp of Galesburg; his father and step-mother, Ed (Marilyn) Klapp of East Galesburg; his mother, Joann Klapp of Galesburg; their three daughters, Samantha (Qais Fulton) Klapp of Seattle, WA, Kari Klapp-Rice and Kayla Klapp both of Galesburg; and one grandson, Enderly Rice.  He is also survived by one brother, Steve Klapp of Galesburg; one sister, Jodi Eaves of Galesburg; two step-sisters, Alison (Todd) Olinger of East Galesburg and Tricia (Al) Adams of Knoxville; and several nieces and nephews.  Ed was preceded in death by one sister, Debbie Klapp in 1973.

Ed worked for many years for the Macomb News Agency as a distributor, retiring in 2020.  Ed was a devout family man, and his greatest joy was spending time with his wife, daughters, grandson, and of course his beloved pets.  He was a political junkie and wrote many letters in the newspaper.  He loved to be at home and cook for his family.
