John R. Camp, 86, of Monmouth, IL passed away at 9:40 am, Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, IL

He was born January 26, 1936 in Mt. Carmel, IL, the son of John G. and Gladys (VanVleet) Camp.  He was raised and educated in Mt. Carmel, IL.

John married Laura Roxie Soloman on August 22, 1953 and she passed away on April 22, 2011.

John worked at Outboard Marine Corporation in Galesburg for 11 years before retiring in 1982.

He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and gambling.

Survivors include his daughter, Mary (Robert) Gray of Monmouth; his granddaughter, Alisha (David) Marston of Monmouth; grandson, John Gray of Monmouth; great grandsons, Nick Marston and Brent Gray; great granddaughters, Bridgette Marston and Nichole Gray; one great-great-granddaughter, Oaklynn Marston

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, numerous brothers and sisters.

Graveside committal services will be 10:30 am, Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at Warren County Memorial Park, Monmouth. Cremation has been accorded.  Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and sent to funeral home.  McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
