Local Special Olympics Polar Plunges Raised Over $100,000

Special Olympics Illinois Region F’s Polar Plunge season was a huge success, raising over $100,000 between their three plunges held throughout February and March in Galesburg, Macomb, and Rock Island, says Assistant Director Jennifer Davis:

“We are very lucky. We have great teams and individuals that plunge every year, and we always gain a few new people that plunge for the first time to cross it off their bucket list. We also have Kaylee McLaughlin, one of our local athletes; she raised just over $11,000 between three plunges herself.”

Region F serves just over 800 athletes in Fulton, Hancock, Henderson, Henry, Knox, McDonough, Mercer, Rock Island, Stark, and Warren Counties.
