Strategic planning is underway as OSF HealthCare has a signed exclusive letter of intent for the real estate and medical equipment purchase of the Cottage Hospital campus in Galesburg and clinic building in Knoxville, says St. Mary and Holy Family President and CEO Lisa DeKezel:
“A lot of strategic planning is occurring as we speak. We really have been kind of preparing the road map for some time now to really understand the needs for the community, the demographics, what level of provider support, space planning needs; what some of those look like to be the sole healthcare provider in Galesburg and certainly here in Monmouth communities as well. In doing so, we have a steering committee that stood up and is doing the space planning to decide what will be housed in the location downtown in Galesburg and what we can continue to do to ensure we are meeting all the necessary services for the communities.”
The anticipated closing date on the Cottage Hospital campus and clinic building is April 1st.
