Paul Schimpf Builds Candidacy on Families, Safe Communities, and Trust and Transparency

Share

Former state senator Paul Schimpf of Monroe County, which is located in the Metro East area of St. Louis, believes transparency in government is sorely lacking in the state of Illinois.

That is one of the key reasons why he is running for the Republican nomination in the June primary:

“Governor Pritzker has failed us and Illinoisans deserve better,” Schimpf writes on his website. “We can fix what is wrong with our state, but only if we have a governor who will take responsibility and stand up to special interests. I am that leader.”

Schimpf expands on the issue by writing:

“Our state still has tremendous potential, but dysfunctional government and failed leadership from the governor’s mansion is holding us back. As your next governor, I will provide the common sense leadership we desperately need to fix Illinois.”

Schimpf believes the way to reduce crime in our communities is by supporting local law enforcement.

Schimpf also supports an amendment to the Illinois Constitution — modeled after the 2nd Amendment — that says parents’ rights to determine their children’s education and health care shall not be infringed upon.
