Spouses of four fallen police officers were at the State Capitol last week urging the State Senate to still act on a number of bills to support law enforcement. They focus on funding for police – including money of body cameras, hiring, and keeping cops on the job. Linsey Timmins husband was killed in the line of duty this past October, and she says lawmakers have to make increasing officer safety a priority.
“This bill is crucial for our law enforcement officers and the communities in which they protect. It needs to be made a priority by our government to protect the ones who protect us and our communities.”
The bills have missed the deadline for final reading in the Senate, but supporters say there would still be a chance for them to pass before the end of session.
