Here’s the WMOI/WRAM Athletes of the Week for the week ending March 13, 2022:
The Monmouth-Roseville Titan Athlete of the Week is scholastic bowl team members, senior Laurabeth Bosomworth and junior Liam Baldwin. These two students were both named to the Three Rivers Conference’s All-Conference team. Liam earned a spot on the first team, while Laurabeth garnered 2nd team status.
The United Red Storm Athlete of the Week is boys basketball players, seniors Cormaic Flynn, Nolan Leffler and Aidan Parkins and junior Abel Wilson. These four young were all named to the LTC’s All-Conference team. Cormaic and Abel were named to the 1st team, with Nolan named to the 2nd team and Aidan earning Honorable Mention status. They were all also named to the conference’s All-Academic team, as well. Cormaic was also an AP All-State Honorable Mention team member and IBCA All-State 3rd team member.
The West Central Heat Athlete of the Week is boys basketball players, senior Walker Conchas and junior Mason Carnes. Walker and Mason were rewarded by LTC coaches for the outstanding seasons on the hardwood this winter. Walker was named to the Lincoln Trail All-Conference’s 2nd team, while Mason earned Honorable Mention team status. Mason’s hard work in classroom was also recognized, as he was named to the LTC’s All-Academic team, as well.
The Galesburg Silver Streak Athlete of the Week is senior boys basketball player, Koen Derry. Koen was named to every postseason honors list possible. He was a 2nd team member of the Western Big Six All-Conference team. Koen was then placed on the Associated Press’ Class 3A Honorable Mention team and the IBCA’s 3A Special Mention list.
The Abingdon-Avon Tornado Athlete of the Week is boys basketball seniors, Easten Schisler and Parker Stoneking. Both of these young men’s fantastic seasons this winter were recognized with postseason honors. They were both named to the Lincoln Trail All-Conference team. Easten was named to the first team, with Parker voted to the 2nd team. Easten was also named to the conference’s All-Academic team, the AP All-State Honorable Mention team and the IBCA’s All-State 3rd team.
