May 5th through the 8th, the Carl Sandburg College theatre department will present the Tony Award nominated absurdist comedy “Luv” by Murray Schisgal inside the Fine Arts Theatre in Galesburg and Theatre Instructor Robert Thompson has a sneak preview:
“It was originally produced in 1964. It is a mix of absurdist humor and traditional Broadway comedy in the vain of Neil Simon. “Luv” concerns two college friends, misfit Harry and materialist Milt who are reunited when the latter stops the former from jumping off a bridge. Each discovers the other as equally miserable as they share hard luck stories. Milt sees in Harry an answer to his primary problem, his wife Ellen, whom he tries to foist on his old pal so he can run off with his mistress. The cast that we have is Tyler Bitar, Geoffrey Paris, and Kaitlyn Pleshko.”
Public performances will be held at 7:30 pm on May 6th and 7th and at 2 pm Sunday, May 8th. All tickets are $5 and will be available at the door.
