Dangerous United Red Storm Baseball Offense Starting to Click
The United Red Storm baseball team’s offense has broken out for a combined 32 runs and 28 hits in their last two ballgames. That hit total includes 10 extra-base hits. United has a string of four consecutive games with double digit hits. The team is (3-1) in those ballgames, with the only blemish an 11-9 loss to a solid Henry-Senachwine ballclub. The Red Storm bounced back from that loss on Saturday with a 16-0 win over Princeville on Tuesday and a 16-6 win over Stark County on Thursday night. One of the reasons the offense is starting to click is the weather has had enough breaks in it that the Red Storm had no games canceled last week and were able to get their games played. United head coach Ryan Molek agrees.
The Red Storm get into Lincoln Trail Conference West Division play today with a double header against Mercer County in Aledo. Weather pending, counting today’s two contests, the United baseball squad has 8 games scheduled in the next seven days.
