In recent weeks, IFSI has received inquiries into the availability of a late spring/summer Fire Academy offering. Due to critical staffing shortages, many departments are concerned about waiting until fall when our next traditional training cycle begins. The role of IFSI is clear – we are here to support the Illinois fire service. As such, we will offer a Spring/Summer Fire Academy starting May 9.
While we understand the timing of this announcement leaves only a few short weeks for registration and preparation, we would be remiss if we did not make every effort to support state fire departments with critical and emergent staffing and training needs. We hope this offering will ensure training is available for departments needing our support.
