Jo Anne Gentle 79, of Avon, passed away March 30, 2022, at 2:50 p.m. at her home in Monmouth, Il.  She was born April 3, 1942, in Klemme, IA. The daughter of Roy and Phildred (Izzard) Jacobs.  She married Billy Gentle, and he preceded her on November 20 1977. She later married Jay Marler and he preceded her in December 2016.

She is survived by her children Troy Gentle of Champaign, Il Alisa (Kevin) Ferry of Monmouth, Ahna Crain of Monmouth.  Her grandchildren Madison, Kendall and Emma.  Her great Grandchildren Joel and Xiomara. Her sister Kay Karsjens, Brothers Cecil (Marlene) Jacobs, and Mike (Trish) Jacob.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Brother Don Maurice Jacobs

Jo Anne got her nursing degree in 1979.  She worked at the Avon Nursing Home, Saunders Hospital, and also Rosewood. She was an EMT in Avon.  She retired and babysat her grandchildren.  Member of the Avon United Methodist Church.  Member of the Angels in Action, Avon Junior woman’s club, and Red Hatters. He had a love for Music. She played for the Avon United Methodist Church, students for solo and ensemble.  She was a big source of music for Avon for weddings, Funerals, and church. 

Funeral Service will be held on April 9, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. at the Avon United Methodist Church in Avon, Il.  Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the church prior to service.  Burial will be in Avon Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to Avon United Methodist Church.  Online Condolences may be made at www.wisefamilyfuneralhome.com. Wise Family Funeral Home in Avon is in charge of arrangements.
