Jon Peck, 67, of Galesburg, died unexpectedly Sunday, April 17, 2022 at home. Jon was born March 27, 1955 in Galesburg, the son of Robert and Helen (Stoerzbach) Peck. Jon graduated from Galesburg High School and attended Carl Sandburg College (where he majored in playing pitch). He married Cindi Collier on April 4, 1980 at the First Presbyterian Church, Galesburg. Jon had a love for cars, so much so he worked as an car salesman and sales manager for over 43 years, most notably for Bob Lindsay, retiring on March 31, 2021.

To know Jon was to know love. His greatest joy in life was his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Cindi and was the proud father of three children, son, Joseph (Christie) England; and two daughters, Kimberly (Todd) Fox and Lindsey (Jordan) Knight. Jon felt great honor in being called “Poppie” by his beloved ten grandchildren, whom he loved deeply. Jon is also survived by two brothers, Dave (Diana) Peck; and Jim (Helen) Peck; and one sister, Sally (Steve) Lundeen, one brother in law Brad Collier, one sister in law Vicki (Dan) Gabriel, and his mother in law Wanda Collier. Jon was preceded in death by his parents who he adored.

Aside from his deep love for his family and friends he enjoyed taking care of his home, his pool, and his yard. He took pride in maintaining his pool which was an oasis for many each summer. Some of his families fondest memories happened in that backyard. He was blessed to have lived on the same street for a majority of his 67 years. Jon always made time for everyone and will be remembered for his honesty and wise advice along with giving the best hugs.  Jon and Cindi enjoyed taking the entire family on multiple trips to two of favorite places; Door County Wisconsin and Ludington, Michigan. He was extremely patriotic, loved to tell a good joke, was an amazing storyteller and cheered on all things Chicago sports, especially the Cubs and Bears. He passed on his love of Chicago sports to his children. Since his retirement Jon enjoyed visiting with the guys at the monthly retiree’s breakfast.

Public visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, April 22, 2022 at Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.  Private family services will be held. His son-in-law, Chaplain Jordan Knight will officiate.  Cremation will be accorded following services.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Knox County Humane Society or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Knoxville Baseball Association.  Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.watsonthomas.com
