M-R Titans Baseball Fall to Erie/Prophetstown in Pitcher’s Duel

The Monmouth/Roseville Titans hosted Erie/Prophetstown on Tuesday night at Sunny Lane Field. In a pitcher’s duel the Erie/Prophetstown came out on top 3-1. The Titans were in position to get on the scoreboard in the first as CJ Johnson single and went to third on a Justin Brooks double. Silas Braun was hit by a pitch to load the bases but the Titans couldn’t get a runner home. Neither teams could score till the fifth when Erie/Prophetstown pushed all 3 of the runs across to grab the lead. The Titans got 1 run back in the sixth as Justin Brooks walked and Silas Braun followed with a single. Leo Mahoney singled to load the bases with Titans. Zach Almagaur singled home the only run the Titans could get. Justin Brooks took the tough loss going 7 innings allowing 3 runs on 7 hits with 7 strikeouts. The Titans also had 7 hits with CJ Johnson leading the way with 2 hits while Jake Steele, Justin Brooks, Silas Braun, Leo Mahoney and Zach Almaguer all added a hit.
