Monmouth City Council Discusses Increase of Monthly Airport Hangar Fees

Share

With the near completion of the new Monmouth airport hangar, City Administrator Lew Steinbrecher reports City Council recently reviewed the monthly fees:

“Currently with the old hangar, the fee was $60 a month. Of course, that was an old hangar, burnt back in October of 2018, and it was all open air there were no individualized unites per say within that old hangar. The new hangar will be compartmentalized. Each unit will be enclosed with interior walls. We surveyed other airports, general aviation airports, throughout the state and felt we would still be competitive if we were to increase that from $60 to $100 a month.”

Council authorized the city’s attorney to prepare an ordinance and further discuss adoption of the fee increase at the next council meeting.
