The Monmouth-Roseville Titan softball team has played a gauntlet of a schedule for the past week. 6 of the Titan’s last 7 games have came against (13-2) Princeton, (9-1) Erie-Prophetstown, (11-2) Peru St. Bede, (17-0) Rockridge and (14-4) Macomb. That’s a combined record of (64-9). That’s a schedule that Titan head coach Jarrod Hippen would put up against anyone in the state in that time period. Monmouth-Roseville is coming off a win over West Prairie last night. Titan junior Ailexa Hunter tossed a 7-inning no-hitter in that one.

The Monmouth-Roseville softball team had a tough week of games, going up against multiple teams with double digit victories on the season. The Titans fell to Peru-St Bede on Saturday, before falling to the ICA number one ranked team in the state in Rockridge on Monday. Monmouth-Roseville also faced to another strong team on Tuesday, falling to Macomb 10-0. The Titans were able to pull out a 5-0 victory over West Prairie on Wednesday, behind Ailexa Hunter’s 14 strikeout no hitter. Head coach Jarrod Hippen believes his team is giving up too many runs at the beginning of games and would like to see his team make the adjustments needed going forward.
