Red Storm Baseball Grabs 16-0 Win on the Road

The United Red Storm baseball team were on the road Tuesday night at Princeville. The Red Storm used solid pitching and impressive hitting to grab a 16-0 win. This one was over early as United got 3 runs in the first as Derrick Sergeant and Cormaic Flynn each walked and scored on a Colin Jenks double. Jenks would eventually steal home for the third run. After a three up three down top of the second the Red Storm would blow this one open. Elliott Copeland was hit by a pitch, Aiden Parkins singled and after Copeland stole home Derrick Sergeant singled in a run. A Cormaic Flynn double put runners at second and third before Colin Jenks singled home 2 more runs and would score on a Nolan Leffler double. Leffler scored on a passed ball to make it 9-0. Matt Holmes doubled and Jon Smith singled before 3 straight walks made it 10-0. Cormaic Flynn single home another run and Colin Jenks doubled home 2 more to make it 13-0. In the third Jake McElwee walked, Kittner McVey walked before Nick Tyrrell tripled them both home before scoring on a passed ball. Aiden Parkins started and went 2 innings striking out 4 before AJ Jenks relieved and went 1 inning of hitless ball with 2 strikeouts. The combined no hitter was just part of the story while the offense banged out 10 hits led by Colin Jenks with 3 hits and 6 RBIs. Cormaic Flynn had 2 hits while Aiden Parkins, Derrick Sergeant, Nolan Leffler, Matt Holmes and Nick Tyrrell all added a hit. The Red Storm travel to Stark County on Thursday.
