United West Elementary Finishing Strong with Several Activities Planned

Share

With the end of the school year in sight, several events remain for the students at United West Elementary, including field trips, which have not been able to happen the past couple of years, says Principal Patrick Coate:

“We are going to continue to work hard for the rest of this year with our kiddos and finish up strong. Another neat piece about COVID being in our rearview mirror overall, is that we are starting to do field trips again. We haven’t had those in the last few years. The teachers have done a nice job of thinking about some places for the kids to attend that maybe they haven’t been before, the Mississippi Palisades State Park, Mississippi River Aquarium and Museum, Starved Rock, the Peoria Zoo, Botanical Gardens, Putnam Museum, all these types of things. We are excited the kids are going to get out and have those opportunities again.”

Also, for the first time in two years, Very Special Persons Day is back at the elementary this Friday, April 22nd, where each student gets to invite an adult to spend the morning with them.
