Beverly Rose McCoy Johnson, 83, Cameron, Illinois passed away at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, in the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice House, Peoria, IL.

She was born to the late W. E. (Bill) and Geneva (Way) McCoy on January 15, 1939, in Yates City, Illinois.

Beverly married Stephen W. Johnson on August 17, 1957. He preceded her in death on January 24, 2021.

Her love of animals started early as her family raised registered Shorthorn cattle. Later, this love was instrumental in establishing Maplevale Limousin cattle and Maplevale dairy goat herds.

She was a proud supporter of her children and grandchildren’s 4-H, FFA and sports activities.

Beverly served several years on the Carl Sandburg College Board of Directors and received her Honorary Degree from Sandburg. In her spare time, she was active in the Shorthorn and Aberdeen-Angus associations, a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, as well as a lifetime member of the American Dairy Goat Association. She was a certified Reflexologist, baked/decorated wedding and anniversary cakes, enjoyed gardening, canning and flower arranging. She always enjoyed visits from her grand and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her children: Stephen Johnson Jr., Susan Gullstrand, and Scott (Leslie Garner) Johnson; grandchildren, Krystal (John) Bellamy, Heather Krohe, Amber (Trent) Patrick, Jessica Boone-Benson, Sasha Garner, and Grant (Jenny) Gullstrand; great-grandchildren, Alec, Eric and Dylan Bellamy; Mariyah Boone; William and Arthur C. Krohe; LeeRoy Benson; Charley and Jett Patrick; Vada and Clara Gullstrand.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and 3 Brothers; Don, Gene and Fred McCoy.

A joint Celebration of Life will be held for Beverly and Stephen at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wise Family Funeral Home, Roseville, to assist in services or the Cameron Christian Church, Cameron, Illinois. Wise Family Funeral Home, Roseville, IL, is in charge of the arrangements.
