Carol Sue Cravens

Carol Sue Cravens, age 74, of Gladstone, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 20, 2022 at Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West Burlington, Iowa.  She was born October 22, 1947 in Kankakee, Illinois, the daughter of Alvin and Geraldine Kohl Jacob.  On August 24, 1968, she married Robert Cravens in Kankakee.

Carol is survived by her husband of 54 years: Robert, one daughter: Connie (Bill) Hansen of Lonoke, AR, one son: Allen (Lynette) Cravens of Gifford, IL, five grandchildren: Jacob and Bradley Hansen, and Tristan, Landon and Makenna Cravens, three step grandchildren, eight step great grandchildren, her goddaughter: Dakotah Ferguson of Bryan, TX, three sisters: Janet (Nick) Andreina, Sandy Green, and Vicky Jacob, all of Kankakee, and a host of family and friends.

Carol worked as a teacher’s aide for West Central School District.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and going on vacations, camping, and spoiling her fur babies.  She was of the Catholic faith.  The family would like to thank Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center and Hospice House for the loving care she received.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Stronghurst.  Cremation Rites have been accorded. Interment of ashes will be in the East Lawn Cemetery in Urbana, Illinois, at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West Burlington, Iowa.  Please visit Carol’s obituary at banksandbeals.com to sign the guest book and leave a condolence.
