City Council Approves 3 Year Contract with Fraternal Order of Police

Monmouth City Council has approved a three-year contract with the Fraternal Order of Police, which represents Monmouth’s police officers, says City Administrator Lew Steinbrecher:

“It has an increase in salaries of 2.5% for the first year, which began May 1 of 2022, another 2.5% in year two, which would by May 1 of 2023, and then the third year of the contract, which begins on May 1 of 2024, a 5% adjustment in salary. It also includes a provision that for a single employee, who has a single health insurance plan, will pay 5% towards the monthly premium of those insurance plans.”

The contract also allows the Monmouth Police Chief to establish swing shifts, which lets a patrol car remain on the streets during shift changes.
