Local NRCS District Conservationist Cathy Froelich informs through the Illinois Department of Agriculture, a collection of old unusable ag pesticides will be conducted this summer through their ‘Pesticide Clean Sweep Program:’
“This is to collect old unusable ag pesticides from farmers, retired farmers, landowners. It is a free program. The participants are asked to pre-register all products prior to collection, which the district will get this form eventually, but you will come into our office or we can email it or mail it to you. You will fill out the form, return it, and then once the Illinois Department of Agriculture gets all the forms back, they will determine where they are going to have the collection, what time, and all that information.”
For more information about the clean sweep program, contact the Monmouth NRCS office at 309-734-9308.
